Unity Baptist has played an important role in Franklin Graham's children's evangelistic ministry, Operation Christmas Child, since 1995. The church has served as a Relay Center and now serves as a Collection Center. Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God's love. This program of Samaritan's Purse provides an opportunity for people of all ages to be involved in a simple, handson mission project while focusing on the true meaning of ChristmasJesus Christ.
As a Collection Center, during National Collection Week which is the week before Thanksgiving each year, Unity Baptist Church collects some 30,000 shoe boxes. They come from ten Relay Centers that feed into the Unity Collection Center from Bremen, Bowdon, Forest Park, Greenville, Fayetteville, Griffin, McDonough, Douglasville, Carrollton, and Stockbridge. From the Collection Center, these boxes are placed in cartons, and sent to the Atlanta Processing Center. Seven Roadway trucks are used to transfer the boxes. From there, the boxes are sent around the world by ship containers and airplanes.
Unity Baptist is proud to play a part in making millions of children happy with the gifts and also receive the greatest gift of all - The Lord Jesus Christ.

Food Collection Bins
We have receptacles for you to place cans of food. The food goes to One Roof and Bridging the Gap Ministry. The food is very much appreciated, thanks for your participation in this project.
Semi Annual Barbeque and Bake Sale
A long standing tradition at Unity is the pork barbeque plates we sell every spring and fall. We have members selling tickets in advance but we always have people that buy the day of the sale. Unity sells plates piled with pork barbeque, brunswick stew, coleslaw, chips, bread and iced tea. The plates are picked up or we deliver them.
We also have some great cooks at Unity. They bring in an abundance of cakes, pies, candy and cookies to sell at our "Bake Your Best For Bessie" Bake Sale. If you like to bake, bring us your goodies! We cannot accept anything that requires refrigeration.
Its all great fellowship and the proceeds from the barbeque sale goes to fund mission trips. The bake sale proceeds go for new kitchen equipment.
There's something for everyone to do. If you are a new member or you just haven't participated before, please come join us!
