To reach others with the gospel of Jesus Christ, to meet the spiritual and physical needs of others, to enjoy, worship and fellowship with one another.
Minister of Music
Jeff Higgins
I was blessed to be raised in a Christian home where both of my parents were active church members. I grew-up attending church every time the doors were open and became a Christian at an early age. I was baptized at the age of seven. I have been leading church music for over twenty years, and have seen a lot of changes in those years. From traditional hymns to contemporary music to drama, I have had
the pleasure to experience it all. This background is what has led me to Unity and the "blended service" that we offer.
I am from the belief that you should allow everyone, at every age, the opportunity to worship through music. I have found the only way that you can accomplish this is to offer a service that touches lots of different styles of music. We do this with different types of songs shared through different types of instruments.
I have been at Unity for four years, and have grown musically, just as the church itself has grown. Not only have our numbers grown in musical talent, but our understanding of music has broadened as we have added a praise team of a more contempory sound. In addition to our pianist and organist leading the way on the more traditional music, the praise band has allowed us to present contemporary music in the format in which it was designed.
