Our goal in Fuse Student Ministry is to give students opportunities to 'Seek, Reach, Teach, and Minister to the people surrounding them. We do this through small groups, student worship, various mission projects, times of fellowship, and outreach to the community around us. We welcome you to the Student Ministry of Unity so that God will be glorified!

About Our Sunday School Teachers:
Dianne Webbis a grandmother of two high school girls in our student ministry and has experienced many events in her life that has formed her into the wonderful person she is today. The relationship she has with our Middle School students is very special and they enjoy being around her. She is on our Youth Ministry team and is very active and helpful in the Student Ministry as a whole. Dianne seems to have the "grandma" effect on our students which is a unique and loving way to minister to our students.
Tim Duke is the father of one of our high school girls in the Student Ministry. Tim and his wife Cindy, are very devoted to the students and the activities that go on. Tim was raised in a Christian home and his father is a Pastor. Our Middle School students love Tim's teaching because they tell me that they love it and when i walk by the classrooms on Sunday mornings, they are focused and having fun all at the same time. Tim's focus is to help the students see life application from the scriptures to help them in everyday life.
Joanne Mitchell is known as the wisest Sunday School teacher we have. Saying that Joanne knows the Bible is an understatement. The students get fed very important wisdom that other teachers willingly admit that they cannot give the students. Joanne keeps a reverent yet interesting class that the students find beneficial. paryer is a ery important part of her class time and I see special bonds of concern between our Middle School students because of it.
Jennifer Floyd Is the mother of one of our middle school girls and one of our high school guys. Jennifer is the church secretary and loves Unity Baptist Church. I always hear positive remarks about how much the students enjoy Jennifer teaching them. Every week when I come into the office, Jennifer always has a smile on her face when she talks about what her Sunday School class talked about the previous Sunday. She is very passionate about teaching our students and is there to help them out as much as possible.
Sunday Evening Schedule:
5:00 PM Church Family Night Worship practice - Student Building
6:00 PM Student Worship - Student Building
7:00 PM YAC (Youth After Church) - Student Building
At 5:00 PM, the students have an opportunity to practice their role in the Church Family Worship that takes place on Wednesday nights. in the Church Family Worship, everyone in the church is together and has a crucial part in the service, no matter if they are 2 years old or 82 years old. The youth typically produce a drama according to the theme for the night, but here lately we are attempting to incorporate more creative ways to do our part. If you want to be a part of this service, be here at 5 PM Sunday evenings and we will get you plugged in. Although we may not get to have everyone in every service, we all take turns and share our talents.
During the 6:00 PM hour, the students have their own service. We have videos, games, a message, and we are attempting to get a praise band going again. The current teaching series is "Searching," where the topic for each message involves tough questions teenagers have today and a scripture based answer. The service involves ALL youth from 6th grade to 12th grade.
The 7:00 PM hour at Unity is very exciting. We have YAC (Youth After Church) right after church on Sunday nights to provide an opportunity of fellowship with the whole church, other student ministry's, and each other. After church, people randomly come to YAC to either play ping-pong, pool, foosball, volleyball, football, dodgeball, softball, wiffle ball or do whatever they can get their hands on. Also, each adult Sunday School class follows a rotation to provide food for YAC. We are very blessed to have the adult Sunday School classes to be so generous and helpful. We love and appreciate them.
Wednesday Night Schedule:
5:30 PM Church Family Dinner
6:00 PM Fellowship time - Student Building
6:30 PM Church Family Worship - Worship Center (We stay for the whole service)
A few words about Centrifuge......
Centrifuge is a camp that is run by Lifeway, a company that sells church literature and is involved in many other aspects of ministry. Centrifuge has been ongoing since 1977 and I consider it one of the most beneficial camps any student can go to. I have seen students come back from Centrifuge with tremendous impact on their lives where the Holy Spirit was so alive in them that they turned their lives around. Every time I go, I am truly blessed and I learn something about God that I can never forget.
Right now, Centrifuge is booked up with both students and parents. I have a waiting list of students who would like to go if someone drops out. See the flyer for details about the camp. Here is the link http://www2.lifeway.com/fuge
